It has been noted that that every heroine of Bollywood is whitish or dusky. There is big hidden secret about the whitish/ dusky skin which makes these pretty Bollywood babes hot and mysterious in front of their fans. There was a period when the dark colored skin in Bollywood, India was downgraded to inventive, similar cinema which the likes of Smita Patil elegances. But nowadays the concept has changed and dusky skins are getting more and more popular in Bollywood and getting attracted as well. If you don’t believe in my words, then I have provided many names of Bollywood heroines those have dusky skin starting from Bipasha Basu, Priyanka Chopra, Kajol, Sameera Reddy, Mallaika Arora, Lara Dutta, Sonali Kulkarni, Konkona Sen, to Tanushree Dutta, Raima Sen, Deepika Padukone and many more. If you are familiar with Bollywood, then it is not required to describe the fact of these divas success and look. All of these Bollywood actresses that I have mentioned above look exquisitely sexy and gorgeous with their dusky skin inducing the rich imagination of each and every man.
According to me, there shouldn’t be any classification for dusky skin because each color has its own uniqueness, specialty and sensuality. But when the matter comes to dusky skin then it is something saucy, tangy and strange. The dusky color makes a woman to look real, sensuous and achievable without applying any artificial things. There is nothing to be worried about the dusky color. A dark looking Bollywood actress like Sameera Reddy or Bipasha Basu looks identifiable and earthly rather than angelic or ethereal. They are really proud of their dusky skin because they have received the best success and stunning look from their dusky color. It has been noted that every girl is looking at them to become like them because they are well liked by their male audience than their female audience.
In addition, the dusky facial appearance has its unique strengths, giving a strange and deep feeling to the character as well. The best example you can take here is Bipasha Basu because she has been crowned as the sexiest woman of Asia for the year of 2005 and 2007. The next best example you can take is Priyanka Chopra because she received the same title for the year of 2006 and she went on to grab Miss World title as well. From these two examples, it is cleared that how these women are happy with their dusky skin in bolywood. From all these facts, it indicates that you should not go for any fairness cream or watch fairness advertisement for making your skin fair. Be happy with what god has gifted you and in fact natural skin only will attract many and it last long forever.
WELL what i feel is that it is true that dusky skin is discriminated against bit at the same time if one carries that confidence which is required then skin colour doesnt matter at all…. one should be proud of watever god has gifted
Is it only me but over here in India, and probably true for many countries in the world, dusky-skinned people don’t really get noticed for their looks and personality unless you’re a Bollywood actress or celebrity!!
Unfortunately, WHITE is still the gold standard for beauty – even here in India. So, everytime you see a Katrina Kaif or Kareena Kapoor act on screen, you will have male audiences fawning over them ten times more than they’d for say, a Deepika Padukone or Sameera Reddy. When I was in college (in New Delhi), I would see that White-skinned females were a rarity and they would get maximum male attention. Even though there are tonnes of dark-skinned or dusky women who actually have better features, shape and more pleasing personality.
Dusky women are highly under-represented in the modelling world, in the matrimonials section of the Times of India. Every time you want a ‘saintly’ looking woman, an angel that you want to show to your Mother, you have to pick a fair as snow bride!!
That’s how colour conscious most Indians are – WHITE is RIGHT in this country. Why would so many fairness creams sell in this country? Now, you even have fairness creams for MEN – that’s how pathetic it has got.
Mark my words, if you’re a dark-skinned or dusky individual (male/female) who happens to be VERY ATTRACTIVE, you will still face discrimination on account of your skin colour at some point of time. I lived in the US for two years and it was clearly evident everywhere. Even though people in that country are not openly racist anymore, the man on the street would want to associate with you based on your skin tone. I happened to be too dark for them whereas my friend who is a Sindhi could pass for an American!!!
Dark skinned individuals are also hampered by the designation of dusky skin as something sultry, seductive and sensual by the media. It’s like each time you see a dusky woman on screen, you only associate her with sex. Whereas a White-skinned woman could carry off an angelic image with rousing approval from the audience.
As the perpetual victim of a colour-conscious world and extending my empathy to all dusky-skinned attractive individuals who face unwanted discrimination despite having such a beautiful skin tone, I declare this rant over!
Wonderful Post! These are women who ooze confidence and who are proud of their skin color. Majority of fair skinned actresses clearly lack the sensuality these dusky skinned actresses project.
