verizon iphone 4Verizon iPhone 4 is a great device to review. Firstly, this is not exactly a new device rather a modified one. From top to bottom the design is same as that of the model set up by AT&T. But one thing that is different is a CDMA radio that is present inside the device. Obviously, this is the important feature in this device. It is difficult to review the device as it employs the same OS the iOS 4.2 and we all have been using it for quite a long period of time. The device was in news for past couple of months and finally got released.

So, here goes the review:

Hardware & Design:
As we have mentioned the phone features the same design and features, there are not many noticeable changes in the hardware and design. One of the changes is the shifting of the iPhone antenna. The Verizon iPhone 4 employs 4 slits two of which are located at the top and rest two at the bottom of the device. There is no significant change in the underlying antenna structure. The creators had ensure that the chipset play good with the newly designed antenna. However the volume and mute buttons were shifted a little bit in order to have the antenna work properly.

Internal Software and Features:
The Verizon version of Apple iPhone 4 has the same A4 CPU chugging in addition to the 512 MB RAM. It also employs a 960X640 Retina Display that is working pretty efficiently. It comes with 2 types of storage options: 32GB and 16 GB like the previous model. Also it goes without saying that it has Bluetooth 2.1 and WIFI connectivity. The change is that it does not employ a GSM radio. Instead it features a CDMA radio that is the major change in Verizon iPhone 4. The camera and video recording quality is same as that of Apple iPhone 4. The camera records videos nice and effectively and takes pretty nice snaps.

Sound Quality:
The main problem with iPhone 4 with AT&T’s connectivity was that users encountered frequent dropped call. But the Verizon version has assured people to provide with good network coverage and solve the dropped call issue. During testing period users those who tested have mentioned that the dropped call issue is significantly lowered. But sometimes when users moved from one place to another it seemed that there appeared a type of call interference and sometimes the sound quality was poor.

Voice Calls:
The voice call facility is really impressive and there are certain minor problems. But these are not of much concern.

Software:
The phone runs on iOS 4.2.6 and there is no significant change in the software. There is one more addition that is Personal Hotspot. It allows you to browse your favorite sites over WiFi connectivity through the Hotspot app that is inside your device.
Verizon iPhone 4 will be a good choice for all because AT&T charges $25 per month for 2GB of Data Transfer while the same option is available for you with Verizon iPhone for $20/month.
