Apple iPad made a great debut with massive sales figure of 3,00,000 units in a single day in US. The figures also include online sales & sales from around the country. Although iPad is not released in other countries yet, the online pre-order number increased by a leap after its official launch at US. Before its launch, the low figure of pre-order in apple stores was a weapon for the criticizers who predicted iPad will not get hit as much as iPhone or even iPod, but all prediction was proved wrong after it launched officially.

Along with millions of Unit sold on first day, iPad buyers also bought over 1,00,000 apps and games from Apple stores. Which is a surprise considering that iPad apps and games costs more than double comparing with iPhone or iPod Touch apps & games. Creators had to make more graphical & detailed apps for iPad due to its bigger screen than iPod or iPhone, resulting increasing cost for their creation. But unique experience & excitement of games & apps in iPad made users ignore the high price, according to the sales figure.

One of the most amazing in-built app of iPad is iBook, the one app which can bring down eBook readers alone, making its debut along with iPad, resulting in sales of over 2,50,000 eBooks from Apple eBook store. It was a long debate whether or not Apple iPad can replace eBook Readers like Amazon Kindle which was a great success until launch of iPad, but after iBook came into market with its unique reading experience and mesmerizing animation of book reading, eBook started to sell like hot cakes from Apple store & other eBook stores.

The prediction is that Apple iPad will reach 7,00,000 sales figure which will be a record for Apple or other Gadgets, is looking to be true. Even iPhone hardly reached 2,00,000 sales on its debut instead of its being the most advanced mobile device of that time. Apple lover around the world are waiting for iPad to release worldwide and who could hold it in US bought the Apple iPad without second chance, one of the reasons why iPad has been a massive hit till now.

    Ali,

I tried to follow your figures but cannot understand them. I think you should correct the figure. I don’t understand what 1,00,000 apps and other x,00,000 really mean. Is it a million or something else? If it is a million, should it be x,000,000?
