Music Review: Life Partner
Music Critic: Goher Iqbal Punn, askMamu.com
Director: Rumi Jaffri
Cast: Govinda, Fardeen Khan, Akshay Khanna, Tushaar Kapoor, Parachi Desai and Geneila D’Souza
Music: Pritam
Lyrics: Javed Akhtar

Govinda, Fardeen Khan, Akshay Khanna, Tushaar Kapoor, Parachi Desai and Geneila D’Souza starrer Life Partrner’s promos have been making bigger waves on the channels making the viewers yearn for the release. For the release, they will still have to wait but for the music lovers, it is a soothing news that the music has hit the stands. Rumi Jaffri directs this outing, which music has been scored by none other than Pritam, whose compositions appear to be hummable. Legendary lyricist Javed Akhtar picks up the pen to write the lyrics. Let’s check the soundtrack out – is it worth listening or not?

1) Kuke Kuke (Shaan and Antara Mitra)
‘Kuke Kuke’ is the song that opens the album. Crooned by Shaan and Antara Mitra, the track is a parody ilk of song that features the badly sung voice of Antara Mitra (this is because of the requirement of the mood of the song where the heroine of the film Genelia D’Souza is supposed to play a bad singer). Shaan impresses a lot with his singing quality. The lyrics by Javed saab are mundane. Pritam stockpiles the tunes in a good manner.

Rating: 6/10

2) Kuke Kuke – Remix Version
The remix version has potential to lure the souls. Go for it.

Rating: 6/10

3) Teri Meri Yeh Zindagi (Soham Chakraborty and Shreya Ghoshal)
Next on the list is ‘Teri Meri Zindagi’ sung by Soham Chakraborty and Shreya Ghoshal. This is a love duet and really sends squashy pleasures inside your body. Brilliantly rendered by the singers, it has pleasant lyrics and music. Go for it.

Rating: 7/10

4) Aage Aage (Mika Singh, Shakti Singh, Ajay Jhingaran, Soham Chakraborty and Antara Mitra)
Horde of singers has been roped in to sing this track. From Mika Singh to Shakti Singh, Ajay Jhingaran, Soham Chakraborty and Antara Mitra all get geared up to croon the lines. But sadly all fall flat. Pritam’s idea of bringing many singers together to sing one song fails. The composition appears to be out of time. Lyrics disappoint also.

Rating: 1/10

5) Gunji Aangna Mein Shehnai (Sunidhi Chauhan and Kirti Sagathia)
Kirti and Sunidhi warble the next song. Kirti is not good on singing and Sunidhi somewhat attracts. The composition is not new and reminds you of many previous songs. Lyrics and the music are mundane.

Rating: 1/10

6) Poorza Poorza (Sunidhi Chauhan and Kunal Ganjawala)
Sundhi Chauhan and Kunal Ganjawala join hands to trill the song. Both depict gorgeous singing. A guest lyricist Kumar has been roped in to pen the lyrics. He does well with the poetic work. Music wise, the track is soothing as well. Why not to give it a listen!

Rating: 7/10

7) Poorza Poorza – Remix Version
The remix version seems okay but does not display the class, the original belongs to.

Rating: 5/10

Conclusion:
The soundtrack of ‘Life Partner’ cannot claim to be an exceptional work nonetheless it holds values, which the listeners might like.

Overall Rating: 6/10
