Politics and power have always rules Indian mind in people’s life as well as in movies. The movies like Satta & Sarkar has been quite good hits in the box office, featuring dirty tactics on Indian politics. One more addition to that is the movie Raajneeti that is a star studded release with a long list of famous actors like Naseeruddin Shah, Arjun Rampal, Nana Patekar, Ranbir Kapoor, Ajay Devgan, Manoj Bajpai & many more with lead actress as Katrina Kaif. The movie depicts a tale of politics and power, this is the story of a few people who feed on power and knows how to use it.
Naseeruddin Shah played the character of Bhaskar Sanyal who is capable of one handedly challenge any opponent and defeat him, who however was expelled from his political career for a mistake. Sooraj, a born leader from a backward class has played the role of an angry young man that has to suffer every step of his life due to the class he is from. Naka Patekar has played the role of Brij Gopal in this film, a leader of the young generations who encourage the youth generations with his dream of an improved India. Arjun Rampal is the son of a family whose political legacy is known for years but he takes risks that may extinct his family and end his life. Veerendra Pratap is a man who believes power is his birth right and will stop at nothing to gain his way to the top, is characterized by Manoj Bajpai. Katrina Kaif is a princess in her life who get the idea of cruelty of life after a shock and get into the battlefield of politics with a strong determination.
The movie resemblances the charecters of Mahabharata who are fighting the epic battle of Kurukhestra, portrayed Naseeruddin Shah as Bhisma Pitamaha, Ajay Devgan as Karna, Manoj Bajpai as Duryodhan, Nana Patekar as Krishna and many more. The film thus tells about the battle between the epic heroes who fought over the crown of power and politics and were ready to take any means for winning there.
