It has been said that excessive amount of tea is harmful for the health but it is what helps you be active and do work for longer hours. A new study shows that the black tea helps fight diabetes.
To find the conclusion, a research has been done in China where the researchers studied the polysaccharide levels of green, oolong and black teas and whether they could be used to treat diabetes.
The researchers found that polysaccharides, which is a type of carbohydrate that includes starch and cellulose, might benefit people who have diabetes because they help hold back absorption of glucose. They also found the fact that of the three teas, the polysaccharides in black tea consisted of the most glucose-inhibiting properties.
In this research, it has also been found that the black tea polysaccharides also depicted the highest scavenging effect on free radicals. These radicals are the ones, which are involved in the beginning of the diseases such as cancer and rheumatoid arthritis.
One of the researchers shared the views, “Many efforts have been made to search for effective glucose inhibitors from natural materials. There is a potential for exploitation of black tea polysaccharide in managing diabetes.”
So, why not to take a cup of black tea regularly to protect from diabetes and to fight with it who are having it?
