The women wear jewelry and put make up to look stylish. But what should a man do to look handsome? Could they wear the jewelry like women? Yes, ofcourse, they can! But obviously they will not go for putting the make-up.

Studies say that since the Victorian times, stylish men have tried everything to avoid all the accessories. In that era and in the past, except the finger ring, if every other thing was to be worn, it was worn with a specific reason. The accessories like money clip, tie clip, collar pin, key chain, cuff links, shirt studs, and wristwatch though were in use but they were treated as utilitarian first and as decoration or fashion second.

Before the World War I, carrying hip flask and a cigarette case were the essential accessories for the young men. During the 80s, man’s jewellery ruled the scene and became a fashion and wearing it appeared to be as a social and business status for men. Then men widely started to go with the fashion of wearing cuff links, suspenders, wrist watch and pocket watch. The writing instruments too came as a fashion.

A look at the accessories of men is as follows:

The Ring:

Past: The Egyptians were the first, who started wearing rings. It was because that by linking one ring to the other, they used to calculate their currency.

Today: It is seen that most of the married men sport gold and platinum rings and bands. Amongst the young guys, finger jewellery is hardly seen rather they prefer wearing simple ones.

The Cufflinks:

Past: During the art nouveau and art deco periods, cufflinks laced with catchy designs became a hit.

Today: It’s very common wearing the cufflinks amongst the young gentlemen and the old men. It makes the men more stylish and good looking. The personality becomes shiny with the use of cufflinks. Even a sober look too oozes out. The shirt’s sleeves appear more graceful with the nice-looking cufflinks. Cufflinks with bright, colourful rubies, emeralds, or sapphires are still considered too ostentatious for day-wear, and are reserved for after-dark ceremonies. Antique sets of studs will sooner or later be in the wardrobe of every well-dressed man.

Tie Clip:

Past: Tie Clip is what is called an American invention. The tie holder adds a touch of controlled flourish. It helps the tie to be under control and prevents it from flapping in the air. And if you don’t use it while eating the food, the tie will become a napkin. So it’s better to use while you eat the meal. Tie holder adds a panache for the shorter men, who have to tuck their tie into the trousers.

Today: It is used widely in today’s time. Every man whether boy or an oldie likes to wear it to look more well dressed and to add spices to his personality. Stylish and colorful with heart-hitting designed tie holders are much in.

Watches:

Past: Using watches as a fashion go much deep in the past. Figuring out exact time frame seems difficult. Anyway, this fashion has been going on since very long.

Today: In modern time, watches have become a fashion statement for the men of all age groups. Unfortunately, many men wear Dick Tracyscaled wristwatches with business suits (along with dress shirts whose cuffs are either too short or too loose at the wrists). Oversized watches are much popular among the young lot of guys who wear or be in casual outfits all the time.

Men’s jewellery is accessories and the use of them makes their style and fashion statement. So guys go ahead and grab the accessories as per your taste because a true fashion is what in which you feel yourself comfortable.
